PAKISTANI STARS ARE GOING INTERNATIONAL AND WE LOVE IT

Pakistani stars representing us on international platforms always fill our hearts with pride and joy. The most recent instance of this would be ‘Ms. Marvel’ where we didn’t only see Pakistani actors and a director but also a script that represented South Asians and specially Pakistanis and Muslims. The cast included big names like Fawad Khan, Mehwish Hayat, Nimra Bucha and Samina Ahmed. Not only that a lot of music that was included in the series was by Local Pakistani Musicians like Hassan Raheem, Evaa B, Hassan & Roshan and many more. Pakistani actors have made us proud by getting featured in a lot of Hollywood and Bollywood hits but today we are going to look at some newly released and unreleased works of Pakistani artists

SAJAL ALI

Sajal is starring in ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’ directed by Shekhar Kapor the film is written by Jemima Goldsmith and rumours are that she has taken inspiration for this film from her own cross-cultural marriage with the former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan. We don’t really know anything about Sajal’s role in the film but we are definitely excited to see her!

AHAD RAZA MIR

Ahad is making us proud by starring not in one but two international projects. The first one is a Netflix series, ‘Resident Evil’ based on a Japanese horror survival video game and film franchise developed by Capcom. The series was released on July 14th and is Ahad Raza Mir’s debut.

The second one is ‘World On Fire’ based on the events of WWII and the show is based on real stories from the war. The story is penned by Peter Bowker. Ahad is reportedly playing the role of ‘Rajib’ in the series. You can watch season 1’s trailer here!

HUMAYUN SAEED

Humayun Saeed in the next season of Netflix's original series ‘The Crown’ as ‘Dr. Hasnat Khan’ Every season of ‘The Crown’ unfolds the life of Queen Elizabeth II. This series is widely popular and loved by everyone, season five will unfold the life events of ‘Princess Diana’ and also the period of her life where she met ‘Dr. Hasnat Khan’ and fell in love with him. Excited to see our superstar in that role!

ASIF RAZA MIR

The Mir’s are acing the game, Asif Rza Mir will be starring in the British show ‘Gangs Of London’ which is an adaptation of a video game released in 2006, having the same title. The series is directed by Gareth Evans, Asif Raza Mir will be playing the role of ‘Asif Afridi’ who is a Pakistani gang leader engaged in the fight to run the city.

OTHER ARTISTS

Pakistani musicians have also done great. Atif Aslam’s three songs were on the soundtrack of the American movie, ‘Man Push Cart’. Everyone’s favourite ‘Strings’ had their song ‘Najaney Kyun’ featured in ‘Spider Man 2’. ‘Laraib Atta’ the daughter of famous Pakistani singer Attaullah is a VFX artist and has been a part of several renowned projects including ‘The Chronicles Of Narnia’, ‘Prince Of Persia’, ‘10,000 BC’, ‘Godzilla’, ‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past’ and the list goes on! Arooj Aftab a Pakistani vocalist, composer and producer and 

Faran Tahir an American-Pakistani actor has worked in several American movies including ‘Star Trek’, ‘Iron Man’, ‘Flight World War II’, ‘Anywhere But Here’ and the list goes on. Adnan Siddiqui and Sajid Hassan also starred in the 2007 film, ‘A Mighty Heart’.We couldn’t be prouder of these artists and we wish we get to see more of our Pakistani artists representing us on international platforms.
