HALF HOUR WITH ... ZAINAB SHABBIR - NEW STARLET IN TOWN...

Hi Zainab, was acting always something you wanted to pursue? When and how did you discover your talent?
I think I always wanted to be famous. I always enjoyed doing art and acting - it makes me happy. So, I decided to pursue it as a career. My mother plays a big role in my journey.

Who has been a constant support throughout your journey? How do you stay positive?
I think my family and especially my mother. They think I am the best and that’s all I need to keep going in my career, no matter what people say. Their prayers are always with me.

What does your day look like while shooting on set?
It is full of energy and a lot of hard work. As I said I enjoy my work and it makes me happy so acting is not work for me. Yes, I get tired a lot, but every new day brings me a new vibe and energy to role.

Would you rather have fame or money?
I think fame makes money in today's world.

What aspects do you look into before accepting a role?
I look for a character having its own life, zone and interests. It should have a spark in it that clicks.

One pro and con of working in the entertainment industry?
Pro: Art is the plus point for me.
Con: Nepotism.

Three things on your bucket list?
Make my family more proud, Hajj and travel the world.

Which movie best describes your life?
(Laughs) None. My life itself is a new script.

What do you enjoy playing more - a character with grey shades/negative or a positive one?
I love grey shades. Obviously you get more sympathy and love by doing a positive role, but I love doing negative characters.

Where do you see yourself in five years?
In peace - happy with where I have come.
