Clean Eating- The number one thing to begin your fitness journey is clean eating. If you simply exercise without paying attention to your diet, you won’t get the results you want. In fact, 70% of your fitness is the food you eat and 30% is the workout. Thus, the most important thing to note when maintaining a healthy lifestyle is to pay attention to what you’re putting in your body. Unlike common belief, clean eating actually involves all food groups including good carbs, good fats, and good protein. That includes meat, greens, legumes, nuts, and so on. You want to make sure you’re getting all the essential nutrients because after all, the whole purpose of actively trying to stay fit is to live a healthier lifestyle. 

Exercise - Working out is one of the essential parts of fitness. If you’re worried about where to begin, you can always start slow. Warm-up exercises as simple as squats, lunges, and planks can be your starting point. Of course, there is a broad selection of exercises to choose from, so pick the ones that are best for your level. However, if you want to start with something a little more intense like HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training), which burns the most calories in the shortest amount of time, you can definitely do it but remember to talk to your trainer because you’ll see the best results if you start at the pace which your body requires. Besides opting for classes and going to the gym, you can simply go for a run or even cycle around. What matters most is that you remain active in your day! 

Stay Hydrated- Water is particularly important when trying to achieve healthy weight loss as it improves the digestive system so that fats are eliminated from the body more efficiently. Drinking water helps flush your system out. It also decreases fluid retention and decreases appetite. In fact, people often mistake thirst for hunger, so if you feel like having a snack, try drinking a glass of water first. 

Consistency: When it comes to maintaining physical health, consistency is key. This is one of the most underrated and overlooked aspects of actually reaching your fitness goals. If you’re tired of falling off track with your routine, remember to stay consistent because it’ll actually help you reach your goals and provide long-term success with the results you’ve always wanted.

Mindset- It seems cliche but the biggest factor in taking on a healthier lifestyle is your mindset. If you don’t gear your mindset towards your goals, it’s unlikely that you’ll get the results you want. Once you have your eyes on the prize and are determined to be the person you were always meant to be then things get a lot easier and you live a much happier existence. Until you can’t rely on that inner motivation you can’t really reach your goals.
