The Major Cricket League: what are the prospects of its success?

The Major Cricket league (MLC) is the first professional cricket league in the United States - a short and fast form of cricket (originally introduced to the professional ranks in England in the early 2000s).

The league will officially start cricket matches in 2023.

A total of $120 million has been invested in this organisation. This money will  also facilitate the hosting of global cricket events in the United States over the next decade.

The Knight Riders Group, who own the Kolkata Knight Riders of the Indian Premier League (IPL), are investing around $16 million to build a 10,000 seat cricket stadium in Southern California.

Many influential individuals worldwide have also decided to invest in this project and trust its establishment — The CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadella, is collaborating with the organisation.

Moreover, the owner of the biggest cricket stadium in the US, Mr. Tanweer Ahmed (Pakistani-American) too invested in this organisation. His contribution to the league has led him to great appreciation in the Pakistani community all over The United States.

The prospects of the MCL are looking good - but whose to tell? Maybe the investors will regret the decision or maybe the MCL will become a prominent member of international cricket.
