Five-year-old Pakistani Wins First Prize in Peace in the Street Global Film Festival

Five-year-old Essa Zaher has won first prize in the Peace in the Street Global Film Festival at the United Nations headquarters in New York for his two-minute film called ‘I will be your Spiderman.’

From the 320 movies made by young filmmakers from around the world, little Essa bagged first place! Sonia Kubika from the Democratic Republic of the Congo won second prize, Raika Akamane from Japan won third prize. The fourth prize was shared among two children from Japan.
The Global Film Festival, produced in association with the Peacemaker Corps Association (PCA), a non-governmental organisation, seeks to promote peace and tolerance among the youth of the world.

Essa's film was about how a kid turns into Spiderman and spends all of his savings to buy a uniform and books for a young girl working in  his house as a maid. Essa played the lead role in the film which promotes education, particularly of street children.

Little Essa Zaheer has made Pakistan proud! Also, can we talk about how adorable he looks representing Pakistan in a traditional outfit!
