Jay Z To Become The First Rapper In The Songwriters Hall of Fame

This summer will surely be a big one for the rapper Jay Z as he is slated to become the very first rapper ever to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in the US.

It is seen as a huge honour within the music industry and Jay Z marks this position as the first ever rapper to be selected to do so. Jay Z who barely ever takes it to social media, tweeted about this.

"This is a win for us. I remember when rap was said to be a fad. We are now alongside some of the greatest writers in history," he said.

A bunch of artists who are considered to have "enriched the world's culture" with their work are selected for induction on a yearly basis however, no rapper has ever made the cut before.
