All The Details From Day Three: The Duke And Duchess of Cambridge In Kalash Valley For Their Five Day Pakistan Tour
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the Chitral district of Pakistan's Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Province for the third day of their royal tour to Pakistan, beginning the day with a visit to the beautiful Hindu Kush mountain range, a few miles from the Afghan border. The couple visited the same Chitral district of Pakistan's Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Province, which William's late mother Princess Diana travelled to during her 1991 solo tour of the country.

Locals ensured they received a warm welcome as they arrived, by presenting the royal couple with the same traditional outfits the Princess of Wales wore during her visit to the area thirty years earlier, as well as a book featuring photos of her trip.

During Princess Diana's solo tour of the country in 1991, she was pictured wearing a regimental embroidered coat and feathered cap after she was made an honorary member of the Chitral Scouts' elite corps. The white wool hat featured white and peacock feathers and a red stip at the front with a silver stag.

The royal couple spent time walking around the tip of a glacier to witness the effects of climate change on the natural phenomena and shine a light on the consequences of global warming, Kensington Palace said. The melting glaciers have caused severe flash flooding in the region, which has affected a nearby village; in 2015, heavy flooding destroyed buildings and farmland there and William and Kate are to visit this village following their tour of the glacier.

Duchess Kate looked stunning as ever, wearing a midi brown skirt, a brown jacket with a waistcoat and a pair of trusty boots.

Before they departed the district, William and Kate visited a settlement of the Kalash people to learn about their community, heritage and traditions.

The couple watched a stunning and colourful celebration from the Kalash people in the village square.

Kate and William took time to meet as many people as they could during their visit to the village. The Kalash community are considered to be Pakistan's smallest ethnoreligious group and have their own unique culture.
