HA Cares – Blood Donation Drive 2025: A Community United to Save Lives
Haque Academy brought compassion and civic responsibility to life on November 15, 2025, as students, parents, alumni, and faculty came together for the HA Cares – Blood Donation Drive 2025, held at the Haque Academy campus. Organized in partnership with the Indus Hospital & Health Network, Pakistan’s highest internationally accredited blood bank, this meaningful initiative highlighted the power of collective action and the impact a single act of kindness can make.
Fuelled by the theme “A Gift That Saves Lives,” the drive emphasized the urgent need for volunteer blood donation in Pakistan, where someone requires blood every three seconds. By the end of the day, 203 individuals walked in to donate, with an astounding 142 units successfully collected — a remarkable milestone for only the second-ever blood donation drive hosted by the school.
Reflecting on the event, Ms. Sanna Tahir, who leads this initiative, shared:
“Karachi continues to face a severe blood shortage, with nearly 40% of the city’s need for safe blood remaining unmet. This reality is what makes our HA Cares – Blood Donation Drive so deeply meaningful. What began as a simple call to give has grown into a powerful movement led by an exceptional team of dedicated mothers whose quiet strength has transformed each drive into a testament to what a united school community can achieve. This year, our entire HA family came together not out of obligation, but out of a shared belief that even one pint can save multiple lives. In a time of such scarcity, every donation becomes more than generosity — it becomes a moment of hope for someone waiting on the other side”
More than a medical necessity, the drive was a powerful lesson in empathy and community engagement. The donations collected will support critical patients at Indus Hospital, while every donor has also been guaranteed blood coverage should they ever need it — a reassurance that deepens the circle of care.
The event drew an impressive mix of alumni, parent volunteers, students, and staff — all united by a shared purpose. Parent volunteers played a leading role in planning and executing the drive, dedicating countless hours to ensure its success, while students and families stepped up with enthusiasm and pride. Numerous heartwarming stories emerged throughout the day — from first-time donors conquering their fears to young students pledging to donate when they reach the eligible age.
This initiative was part of HA Cares, Haque Academy’s long-term community service platform designed to cultivate compassion, responsibility, and global citizenship among its students. The program has previously led impactful projects including a flood donation drive, a Palestine awareness campaign, and the school’s first blood drive in 2024. Each effort reinforces HA’s commitment to raising thoughtful, community-minded young leaders.
