DK in PK: Denmark Celebrates Multi-faceted Relations With Pakistan
Denmark and Pakistan enjoy strong and multi-faceted relations, and this was evident at the public festival ‘DKinPK’ organised by the Embassy of Denmark that took place in Lahore on 13th May 2017. The event showcased the longstanding and much diverse collaboration between both countries within the areas of trade, development, peace and stabilisation and cultural exchange.

Speaking at the event, the Ambassador of Denmark, H.E. Ole Thonke said that the Embassy had launched “DKinPK' as part of its efforts to reach out to Pakistanis and tell about the important and long standing partnership between the two countries.

“In addition to presenting the work of our local partners in Pakistan, we also want to increase awareness about Danish expertise which can provide inspiration to Pakistan, for example within areas of health, energy, food and water management”, added Ambassador Thonke.

During the event, multiple partners, who have been supported by the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) since 2010, showcased their work and contributions in Pakistan, which primarily focus on promoting gender equality, democracy, human rights, education and arts and culture. Many of the Danish companies operating in Pakistan also showcased their efforts towards wind energy, water management, healthcare, and textile solutions. The guests could also get a taste of delicious Danish food prepared by the globally recognized Ms. Kamilla Seidler - awarded Best Chef in Latin America 2016 - while listening to the captivating music performances by the Danish band ‘Jonas and the Gang’.
