Legendary Pakistani Actor Shamim Ara Passes Away
We are sadenned to hear about the death of the Legendary Pakistani film actress, Shamim Ara. The Lollywood actress of the 50s and 60s, who had an array of movies under name such as, Kunwari Baywa,  Devdas, Doraha, Humraz and many more was under treatment in London since she suffered a brain hemorrhage in 2010. She passed away today, on Friday August 5th in London, at the age of 78, after a prolonged illness.

Here is a little about the late actress:

Shamim Ara was born in British India at Aligarh in 1938. When she was younger she was encouraged by her family to become a professional dancer. She acted in over 80 Pakistani films including Saheli , Qaidi , Naila, and Anarkali. In 1976, she decided to become a film director herself and directed many popular films such as Playboy, Miss Istanbul and Munda Bigra Jaye.

We will forever remember her for her talent, passion and dedication in her work. Rest in peace Shamim Ara.
