Lyricist of 'Dil Dil Pakistan' Passes Away

Lyricist of 'Dil Dil Pakistan' Passes Away
Nisar Nasik, the lyricist of the national song Dil Dil Pakistan passed away this morning in Rawalpindi at the age of 76.

During the last days of his life, Nasik suffered from mild blindness and amnesia. In the last few years of his life he lived in extreme poverty but his patriotism never died.

The song will forever be lived and still echoes through cricket stadiums not only throughout the nation. Even though this song is known by almost every Pakistani, none really knew the man behind this iconic anthem.

Sung by the late Junaid Jamshed, the track took to new heights of success. He remained associated with Radio Pakistan throughout his life. He holds two books to his credit, Chothi Simat Ka Musafir and  Dil Dil Pakistan.

He is going to be laid to rest today Rawalpindi.
