Brexit: The UK Formally Leaves The European Union Today

Today at 23:00 on Friday, 31 January, the UK formally leaves the European Union (EU). However, the break is buffered by an 11-month transition period.

During the transition most things will remain the same, for example, the UK will continue to obey EU rules and pay money to the EU. Things to change will be that UK MEP's will lose their seats in the European Parliament and UK will leave all of the EU's political institutions and agencies.
