Hello Exclusive! Here's How Saba Qamar Got Her First Bollywood Film
Lahore Se Aagey star Saba Qamar is all set to make her Bollywood debut alongside Irrfan Khan and we find out how it all happened!

According to the Hindi Medium director Saket Chaudhary,

"I'm constantly being asked by journalists why I chose a Pakistani actress. It's a delicate matter and therefore I tried to give a diplomatic answer which is that I was looking for an actress that had the attributes of being a Punjaban. She is beautiful and aspirational, yet credible as a mother of a 3-year-old. When I saw 'Maat' and her other work, I realised she fit the criteria that none of our actresses did."

Additionally, as reported by Deccan Chronicle, Chaudhry revealed that Saba Qamar was not his first choice.

He director said,

“Once we cast Irrfan, we were looking for the female lead. It wasn’t like we jumped to Saba as a default option. We had considered other actresses here, but there were issues.”

He added,

“We tried to think of whom we could cast and that’s when I saw Saba in a couple of Pakistani television shows. I knew she would fit the bill of a next-door Punjabi girl and decided to take her on board. The equation between the countries was much better back then.”

According to a report in DNA, Saba took additional speaking lessons to perfect the accent and pronunciation of a Delhi girl.

Saba says, “It wasn’t easy for me to learn the dialect, simply because I usually speak in a typical Urdu lehja, like aap, hum and tum. Also, the way Delhi girls are so bold and confident in themselves was a really nice thing to see.”

Moreover, the starlet is ready for the movie's release, she will not be participating in the promotions due to the current situation of the two countries.

Hindi Medium will release on May 12, are you planning to watch it?
