Lux Style Awards Nominees Withdraw From Race

Lux Style Awards is back with its 18th ceremony, but unlike every year this time quite a few  nominees are withdrawing and rejecting their LSA nominations.

Due to an alleged harasser being nominated in one of the Lux Style Awards category, Model Eman Suleman (nominated as Best Emerging Talent in Fashion [0-3 yrs]) was the first to reject her nomination and took to her Instagram where she explained her reasons for doing so in a short video. She said, "I do not wish to be part of an accolade that is shared with an alleged harasser." Later on, make-up artists Saima Bargfrede and Fatima Nasir (both nominated under Best Hair and Make-up Artist); singer Meesha Shafi (nominated for Best Song) and clothing brand Generation (nominated for Achievement in Fashion Design [Pret]) have followed the models footsteps and with great bravery stepped down from their nominations. Some took to their Social Media while others released official statements to let their followers know.

Since 2002, LSA is the largest award ceremony held annually in Pakistan. The awards celebrate "style" in the Pakistani entertainment industry. This event it dedicated to Pakistani TV, fashion, music and the film industry. The awards are voted by both the general public and a committee of experts.
