Meesha Shafi Fails To File A Response In Light Of Ali Zafar's Defamation Charges

It’s been several months battling it out in court! Pakistani singer Meesha Shafi and musician and singer Ali Zafar are caught in a legal battle, following a defamation case by Ali Zafar after Meesha Shafi accused him of sexual harassment on April 19, 2018.

In the latest development on that front, Meesha Shafi who had appeared in court through her counsels did not file a reply and sought an adjournment against the defamation case lodged against her by Ali Zafar.

On 25 September 2018, the judge handling the case sent in this statement:

“Request for adjournment has been made on behalf of defendant for submission of written statement. As per request, last opportunity is hereby granted. Now to come up on 17/10/18 for submission of written statement on behalf of defendant.”

We trust that Ms Meesha Shafi does now file her written statement in this case and that the case is decided on merits without further delay.”

The judge has provided Meesha Shafi a last opportunity to provide a written statement, or the case will be decided on merit. We shall wait and see what further developments will take place.
