As we all know, growing up this colour is favored by majority of the female population. So much so that this colour in itself symbolises femininity. The day can be celebrated by wearing the colour, eating pink coloured foods, donating to pink ribbon charities and of course using #NationalPinkDay.

Dating back to the 14th Century, 'pink' means to decorate with a perforated or punched fashion. In the Rocco period (1720-1777) the shade was enjoying its golden age and pastel colors became fashionable in courts. The mistress of King Louis XV of France, Madame de Pompadour, was celebrated for wearing pink, she even had a particular tint of the colour specifically designed for her.
