SANAM MAHER - AUTHOR

An author and journalist based in Karachi Sanam Maher has been working on issues relating to Pakistan's art and culture, business, politics, religious minorities and women for a number of years and her work has appeared in the New York Times, Al Jazeera, and Buzzfeed. However it was her book about the murder of Pakistani social media sensation Qandeel Baloch, ‘A Woman Like Her’ that caught the world’s attention. The book reconstructs the story of Qandeel Baloch’s life and explores why her story became so emblematic of the larger issues that women in our country face on a regular basis.
