HOW TO POSE FOR THE ‘POSE-LESS’
Don't we all just love taking pictures and posting our favourite moments on Instagram? But often we are not really sure how to pose in front of the camera. Let's all be real, sometimes we look at the photos we take and just question everything from our posing to our looks but more often, bad photos are caused by not knowing how to pose and look comfortable in your own skin. So the first tip is: confidence is key! Here are a few more tips to pose well in pictures.
1)ALWAYS HAVE ‘ONE FOOT FORWARD’ IN LIFE
One of the things that can make us look awkward in pictures is usually when we look stiff. So in order to not look stiff and create movement in your pictures, you can very simply put one foot forward. This simple step gives movement to your pictures and makes you look more natural.
2)MOVEMENT IS KEY
You don't always have to be still for a picture, some sort of movement can add a lot of personality to your pictures. It can be anything from a twirl to a jump. With this method, you might have to take more pictures in order to find a good one, but once you do find one it is perfect for your Instagram and full of personality.
3)DON'T BE THE MAIN CHARACTER
You don't always have to be in focus and right in front of the camera for pictures. If you are travelling and are at a scenic location or at any famous landmark, you can stand back and take a wide-angle photo to show off the location with you right in the middle. Even if you are not traveling, you can use this same trick for any place which may have a beautiful background such as accent walls in restaurants or a nice sunset view. Photos like these are bold and vibrant and make an impact on your feed.
4)THE FLOOR IS YOUR BEST FRIEND
Sitting down is one of the best ways to take pictures, but sometimes sitting on a chair can be uncomfortable and hard to pose with, so the floor is your best friend. Whether you are kneeling or sitting cross-legged, sitting on the floor can create some really cute and casual photos whether it be alone or with friends.
5)YOU DON'T ALWAYS HAVE TO LOOK AT THE CAMERA
Another thing is that you don't always have to look straight at the camera, it's actually okay to seem like you are looking at something or somebody else. This makes for some good candid photos and by looking to the side you can highlight your jawline and by looking back you can show off your locks. If you are taking pictures with your friends, you all can look at each other creating a fun scene.
6)‘PROP’ IT UP
You don't always have to be empty-handed, props can add a lot to your pictures from a purse to even a jacket in your hand. Holding props can add a lot of effect to your pictures and make them look a lot more fun. Also, props can add a new element to your picture, and you can choose the type of prop based on the type of picture you are going for.
Lastly, it's good to remember that pictures are to have fun, so you don't always have to worry about how you look. Some pictures serve as memories and capture moments so just have fun with them and everything else will follow.
