Is this what award shows are going to look like now? One massive Zoom call?
On Thursday, a list of the winners for all the categories were announced. The organizers of the LSA had previously stated that because of the unprecedented situation due to COVID-19 an actual awards show would not be held.Voting for all the categories was also held online, in a first for the industry.
However a number of new outlets which reported the list of winners, also reported that some kind of virtual ceremony had been recorded, which would be shown online, next week.
Will it be like the Emmy's with hundreds of celebrities joining the ceremony from the comfort of their own home? What will the red carpet for a virtual awards show look like? And most importantly, with internet connections being as patchy as they are across Pakistan, will there be a lot of frozen faces stuck on screen?
