Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Receives An Honourable Award at Oxford University

Renowned singer, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan visited Oxford University yesterday to receive an honorary shield from the well reputed university. He also performed at one of the university's most historic venues, the Holywell Music Room.

The Holywell Music Room is "the oldest music room of Europe, made in the 17th century, which was specially opened up for Khan sahab," shared his PR rep.

He added,

"The biggest composers and musicians of the UK & Europe of the last three centuries have made music in that room. It's historically a very prestigious place."

Rahat performed alongside Fusion Project, an ensemble of students from Oxford University who strive to revive and make accessible the beauty of Indian Classical Arts, as reported by Asian Image.

Rahat adds yet another honourable award from Oxford University to his ever growing collection and it is no surprise. For as long as we can remember, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's song is one that we look forward to in almost every Bollywood hit- from sappy to promising love songs, there is something about his voice that provides comfort and we can feel nothing but proud and happy for someone so great.
