Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has arrived in Tehran to help play a role in diffusing tensions in the Middle East following threats of a military confrontation between Iran and the United States.

He would then leave for Riyadh to hold talks with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and consult on the issues of regional peace and stability after concluding his two-day visit to Iran.

FM Qureshi will then travel to Washington on January 15 where he will meet senior officials of Donald Trump administration to discuss the Middle East crisis.
