Mahira Khan Appointed UNHCR’s Goodwill Ambassador For Pakistan
The UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) has appointed Mahira Khan as their newest Goodwill Ambassador for Pakistan, in a ceremony in Islamabad.

The UNHCR made the announcement through a video it posted on its Twitter account. Mahira, who said she was ‘grateful and honoured’ to be the UNHCR's latest  goodwill ambassador, noted that Pakistan ‘has opened its arms to refugees for over 40 years’. The UNHCR is a global organisation dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights and building a better future for refugees, forcibly displaced communities and stateless people.
