NYFW: Our Favourite Collections

NYFW: Our Favourite Collections
It’s said that N.Y.C is the city that never sleeps, and the statement rings especially true during the eight-day sprint of New York Fashion Week. From the colours that are already trending for Spring 2017, to the ultimate princess dresses (thanks very much, Marchesa), take a look at our favourite collections from the NYFW runways.

RODARTE

NYFW brought us something different and altogether elegant from Rodarte. We would never have guessed that this oh-so-pretty and wearable collection was designed by one of fashion’s kookiest duos. We’re dying to see Queen Beyonce rock one of these looks!

Michael Kors

Michael Kors is one of those designers that’s all about making women look and feel beautiful. We really respect how he stays faithful to his niche of creating flattering, feminine garments. Those earthy tones are calling our names with their lightness and simplicity.

Marchesa

Marchesa’s fairy tale dresses had us oohing and aahing. Hand’s down the loveliest collection at NYFW.

Delpozo

Effortless and sublime, Delpozo’s presentation, was, for us the highlight of NYFW. We have a lot of admiration forJosep Font’s vision and whimsy. From the additional 3D elements to the soothing colour palette, there’s nothing we don’t love. Those pants are the very height of equestrian chic, and that floral coat: divine!

Christian Siriano

The increasingly popular Siriano cited Jackie Onassis on the Isle of Capri as the inspiration for his Spring 2017 presentation. Featuring show stopping gowns in tangerine and cerulean, as well as elegant black numbers, this was the Project Runway  alums most confident collection to date. Our fave? A mulicoloured beaded mini in an eyecatching chevron print. We can imagine a number of starlets battling it out for the chance to debut that look on a red carpet.

Carolina Herrera

This year marks Carolina Herrera’s 35th anniversary in the business, and her Spring collection was a savvy fusion of the then and now. We love how the grande dame of fashion is constantly re inventing herself, and the youthfulness of her recent collections is a testament to that fact. The most covetable items  in Herrera’s repertoire are still her evening gowns, none more so than the knockout black-and-white creation that oozes nighttime glamour.

Monique Lhuillier

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.Monique Lhuillier’s latest collection was a throwback to her early days as a designer. Rooted in a delicious candy palette, the presentation was a feast for the eyes and soul. The fantasy princess inspiration was clearly evident in the numerous chiffon gowns in shades of pale pink, ice blue and minty green as well as the tiny heart sequins embroidered here and there. And did you see the teensy mink jacked dyed a milky lavender? Just lovely.
