Everything is pointing towards one direction, as the pandemic in Pakistan increases in numbers — Covid-19 is getting closer to home. Here are some simple tips; home remedies and minor lifestyle adjustments that can build your immunity and keep you strong during these difficult times. 

 

Continue with the hygiene drive

It is better to keep cleaning everyday surfaces and handles with disinfectant and bleach. From car door handles, to table and kitchen surfaces, daily cleaning is a must. Make sure that any items that you get from the market should be left out in the sun for a couple of hours and sprayed and cleaned with a mixture of bleach and water. All this effort will prevent your body from germs and allergies.



Take that daily dose of Vitamin C

Dissolve one tablet of 1000 CC of Vitamin C in a glass of water and drink it daily. Vitamin C will build your immunity and protect you from infections.

Vitamin D can be obtained if you are outdoors in the sun, but staying indoors, as well as the heat in Pakistan nowadays, will deprive you of this essential vitamin. Vitamin D is important for healthy bones, teeth and muscles and builds your resilience against the common cold. 

Ginger is a natural antioxidant 

The properties of ginger are immense and natural remedies can have a positive impact on your health. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has said that ginger is by no means a medically proven treatment for fighting COVID-19. Ginger is a natural anti-inflammatory and antioxidant and can be beneficial in keeping you healthy. Drink steeped in tea, a small chunk will do, or add raw to your food, which Pakistanis do regularly. 

Garlic is an immunity booster

Garlic has natural properties to fight germs and infections and protect you from the common cold and flu. A clove of chopped garlic swallowed down with water or eaten with a few tablespoons of yogurt will be beneficial for your health.
