Preity Zinta’s response upon being asked about the #MeToo movement in India has received a lot of backlash and left everyone in a state of shock!

In a recent interview, Preity was asked if she had ever personally experienced any sort of harassment, to which she laughingly replied “No, I haven’t, I wish I had. At least I would have had an answer to tell you. No and that’s what I am saying that this is very relevant question because people treat you the way you want to be treated.”

This was her response to the stories circulating about her response in this image.

Preity Zinta, has received a lot of hate and negativity for her views on #MeToo movement. She is “surprised and upset” that her recent comments have been taken out of context. With much disappointment she took it to Twitter to explain herself. She even called out Faridoon Shahryar, the journalist who took her interview for editing the conversation.

The #MeToo movement began in India after actor Tanushree Dutta accused co-star Nana Patekar of allegedly harassing her in 2008. From then on, women from various industries, mostly media and entertainment, have come forward of allegations of sexual misconduct against many big names in the Bollywood industry.
