Airline
Islamabad, June 18, 2026, as Airblue marks 22 years of connecting people, cities, and
opportunities across Pakistan and beyond, the airline announces a major milestone in its
digital transformation. Effective July 1, 2026, Airblue will operate as Pakistan’s first fully
cashless airline. All payments across its network will shift to digital channels only.
Digital payment options for customers:
Airblue Mobile App, website, credit/debit cards, direct bank transfers, and leading digital payment platforms. Cash transactions will no longer be accepted.
Benefits of the cashless transition:
Enhanced security: Safer, traceable digital transactions
Seamless experience: Faster check-in and boarding with no cash handling
More choice: Multiple digital payment options at every touchpoint
Convenience: Simplified online check-in and booking
By adopting a fully digital ecosystem, Airblue aims to streamline the travel experience, save time for passengers, and ensure secure transactions at every stage.
For over two decades, Airblue has led innovation in Pakistan’s aviation sector from pioneering electronic tickets, introducing the first Airbus A321neo and online check-in facility on its domestic and international network. As it enters its 23rd year, this move to a cashless model reaffirms Airblue’s commitment to agility, efficiency, security, and customer-centric service.
For 22 years, Airblue has challenged convention and helped shape the future of travel in Pakistan by embracing innovation and setting new service standards.
And the journey continues.
