Thumka for Jhumkas, Welcoming Back the Classic!
Sonam sent fans into a whirlwind when she paired her stunning Ralph and Russo gown with big, golden jhumkas and a tied back look. Styled by her sister Rhea, the earrings added real grace and poise to her overall appearance. Even though Sonam has been credited with bringing back the ‘jhumka’, many other celebs have been rocking them since way before that.
Deepika Padukone selected chandelier earrings for most of her events during the promotion of Bajiro Mastani. Sha chose to play with the classic combination of big jhumkas with simple saaris and subtle makeup.
Our very own Pakistani celebrities can never be far behind when a trend catches on. The Hocane sisters have adorned the look in their own styles at weddings and for designers. Urwa styled herself wearing a heavy front open shirt with light makeup and stunning gold and pearl jhumkas. She wore another pair of long round earrings at the Bridal Couture Week gold during her performance with Farhan Saeed.
Mawra, on the other hand, attended a Jaipur wedding wearing beautiful jhumkas by Anita Dongre paired with Rema ear-cuffs.
Of course, we can’t forget Aiza Khan who went for classic gold jhumkas which weren’t too big in size for her mehndi back in the end of 2014.
While buying jhumkas, keep in mind that the pair you choose suits the length and size of your face. With a relatively big face, long earrings look alluring, but a smaller face requires smaller fashion accessories. Mahira smashed her look out of the park in Bin Roye with smaller earrings so you know that no matter what the size, this trend is here to stay.
