Masterchef Winner and Doctor: Saliha Mahmood-Ahmed
The much anticipated season of MasterChef concluded on a sweet note with Saliha Mahmood-Ahmed being crowned as winner of the prestigious cookery contest. Her three-course final meal, a fusion between tradition and futuristic tastes won the hearts (and stomachs) of judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode.

According to The Telegraph, “How extraordinary…. that pudding is extraordinary and extraordinarily good,” Wallace exclaimed as he sampled the Watford-based doctor’s dessert.

Twenty-nine year old Saliha insisted that though she was one of the most boring people to meet her expertise speaks otherwise! The equally likable Ryan reminded viewers cooking is all about family as she dedicated her final meal as heartfelt tribute to her nearest and dearest--the main course was dedicated to her boyfriend and the dessert to her best friend.

The challenge was one that wasn't easy- it was to prepare a three course meal from a starter to a dessert in 180 minutes. Mahmood cooked up a Vension shami kebab starter, Kashmiri style sous-vide duck breast main and Saffron rosewater and cardamom pannacotta. The meal looked as delicious as it sounds!

Taking inspiration from her Pakistani heritage, Mahmood had impressed throughout the competition with her innovative dishes.

In the semi-final round she received a lavish praise for her delicious stuffed patties, with Wallace and Torode quoting it as “mouthful after mouthful of pure joy”.

Though, the latest series of the renowned show hasn't been without any controversy. There was an uproar over the semi-final elimination of Alison O’Reilly, regarded as  a favourite alongside Mahmoud-Ahmed, after  Torode and Wallace ruled against her fried chicken.
