Lahore saw fashion take over its historical Hazuri Bagh in full throttle recently. Set against a regal and breathtaking backdrop, Élan showcased bridal wear fit for royalty. Khadija Shah, the creative force behind Élan chose to showcase her brand with a solo show. The show was curated in partnership with the world’s Young Presidents Organization, as they jointly presented ‘Stories of The Indus’ at the exclusive event.

YPO, for the uninitiated, is a prestigious global platform that encourages chief executives to engage, learn and grow. YPO members harness the knowledge, influence and trust of the world’s most influential and innovative business leaders to inspire and impact business, personal, family and community growth. The joint venture with one of Pakistan’s leading design houses shows that the business of fashion in Pakistan is blossoming and signifies advancement.

The clothes were signature Élan, the resplendent and detailed work inspired by the cultural heritage of the sub-continent. The designs incorporated traditional motifs, reinterpreting them in a contemporary yet classic manner. These elements were tastefully combined with drapes and silhouettes for a breathtaking result. The beautiful jewellery was courtesy Jaipur & Co. and the collection highlighted the opulent craftsmanship of the Indus.

‘Stories of The Indus’ celebrated the grandeur of the rich Indus heritage through a fusion of literature, music and fashion. At the event, Imran Aslam accompanied by singer Zeb Bangash narrated the soul-stirring stories of the Indus. Ali Sethi enchanted the audience with his live performance as models sashayed down the ramp. Stories of the Indus was choreographed by Rehan Bashir of The House of Kamiar Rokni.
