Over the last year, audiences have started seeing a more confident and self-assured version of you both on-screen and online. Do you feel like Nawal Saeed today is very different from the girl who first entered the industry?
How kind, that’s how I’ve been feeling lately, so I guess it just reflects. I don't think anything can shift my core, but I do feel I've become kinder to myself and more trusting of my intuition than ever before. So we're keeping a good heart, but becoming more selective about who gets access to it.

Your Instagram presence lately feels very curated but still personal at the same time. How important is social media for an actor in 2026? Do you see it as self-expression, branding, or pressure?
It has always been personal and truly reflects how I am as a person. I've just started posting more, I guess (laughs). I would never really sit and plan the best way to go about it, authenticity is key for me. A quote, an old Gothic architecture building, a calm sunset, and a lot of me (smiles). Primarily, it's self-expression, and the work just follows when you're being YOU.

You've been part of emotionally intense dramas. What kind of roles excite you now? Are you still drawn towards softer romantic characters, or do you want to surprise audiences with something completely unexpected?
I've always enjoyed playing grey characters because I think that's how we humans are. We commit questionable acts for understandable reasons. But a well-written romantic character calms the little girl in me (laughs).
Pakistani audiences often typecast actresses very quickly. Have you ever turned down a project because it felt too similar to something you had already done before?
Well, yes. So many times. It's always for the better.

There's always conversation online about appearance, beauty standards, and "looking perfect" in the entertainment industry. As someone constantly in the public eye, how do you personally deal with that pressure?
There's no such thing as perfect and I think that's what makes it beautiful. It's always important to look after yourself, but for me, it primarily depends on how honest you are with your audience. And what better explains it than my favourite quote: "Beauty is as beauty does."
You've managed to stay relevant without constantly being in controversy or overexposed. Was maintaining a certain mystery around your personal life always intentional?
Absolutely, I try to. Although people do get to see a lot of it, for example, my work, travel, and my pet but a lot of what I feel remains mine to keep. I share whatever I find scenic and would like people to see.

A lot of actors today are experimenting with films, OTT platforms, and even international collaborations. Would you also like to explore something soon?
Of course, never say never. I'm quite content with life at the moment but if there's a good opportunity, I'll definitely go for it.
Fans often say you have a very calming and graceful screen presence. Do you think that naturally reflects your personality in real life, or is the real Nawal very different off-camera?
Thank you, guys. I'm overwhelmed. I mean, I have my days, (smiles) but I try to bring my mind back to gratitude every time. If it shows, the job is done.

With every new project, audiences become more vocal online, sometimes supportive, sometimes harsh. Have comments and public opinions ever genuinely affected your confidence?
Touch wood, I don't get a lot of harsh reactions on the internet or otherwise. Also, I've begun to recognise the difference between healthy criticism and someone simply being nasty and it's actually quite funny. As Thumper in Bambi says, "If you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all."
Looking at the current entertainment industry, do you think actors today have it harder because of constant social media scrutiny, or easier because there are now more opportunities than before?
Scrutiny comes with the work we've chosen. Since people have consciously chosen to put everything out there for the world to see, it can't always be nice and should be dealt with accordingly. I've always believed that social media, when used responsibly, is a great platform to showcase your talent.

If 2026 had to become a defining year for Nawal Saeed, what's the one thing you would want audiences to remember you for by the end of it?
I've said this so many times, and I will continue to: just remember me as someone who made it on her own, with nobody holding her hand through the process. Nothing else matters. God bless. x
